Guccio Gucci founded the Gucci company in 1921 in Rome, Italy. After Guccio's death in 1953, his son Aldo took over the business and opened up the very first U.S. boutique in New York. Gucci created the Flora Silk scarf, worn and made famous by actress Grace Kelly, and also the Jackie O. shoulder bag, made famous by President Kennedy's wife Jackie Kennedy. Gucci has a very renowned style and particular detailing, such as the use of the "GG" logo on many of the handbags.
